Stage 1: Material rack installation
The material rack carries the terminal reels and presents the tape to the feeding track. Mount it on the frame in the documented position so that reel drag stays low and the tape path stays straight; a rack bolted on crooked will pull the tape sideways at the feeder.

Stage 2: Feeding track installation
The feeding track guides the terminal tape from the reel to the insertion head. Align the track to the head so the terminal pitch index repeats reliably, then check that the tape advances without bowing and that terminals sit flat in the guide.

Stage 3: Computer shelf installation
The control shelf holds the industrial computer and the 17-inch color LCD monitor at operator height. A solid, level shelf matters more than it looks: the machine runs a Windows-based application, and a monitor that shakes or catches ceiling light slows every changeover.

Stage 4: Computer installation
The S-7000T runs an industrial computer plus a motion control card. From the host you can read production data, management data, equipment parameters and all I/O signal diagnostics. Connect the machine, confirm the software starts, and check that every axis and sensor reports correctly before moving on to programming.

Stage 5: Mouse and keyboard installation
Small step, real consequence. Route the mouse and keyboard cable clear of the moving head and the tape path, then confirm the operator can reach the operation panel area, image/video area, production data and program display without leaning across the machine.

Stage 6: Feeding motor reset to zero
This is the step that decides whether the first production run is scrap or good boards. The feeding motor must be reset to its zero position so the tape pitch index and the insertion position agree. If the motor zero is wrong, the insertion position drifts along the tape and terminals deform or miss the hole.

First-article verification after installation
Before releasing the machine to production, confirm the mechanical interface between terminal and board:
- PCB hole tolerance — the insertion hole should be 0.5 ± 0.1 mm larger than the terminal foot
- Terminal thickness — the S-7000T handles terminals from 0.5 mm to 1.2 mm thick
- Insertion angle — 360 degrees in 1-degree increments, with vertical error of 0.8 degrees or better
- Component spacing — allow at least 2 mm between component bodies
- Clinch style — inward, outward or "N" clinch, chosen to suit the joint design
- Stress check — the S-7000T is stated by the manufacturer to pass the IPC-9704 stress-test standard, keeping the stress value of each insertion within ±400 ue
Run the first article against the drawing, verify seating, clinch direction and hole fill, then record the recipe and release the machine.
