SBF330 Wave Solder Input Conveyor: Installation and Commissioning
Losses in wave soldering usually start at the inlet, not at the solder pot. This guide covers how to install, align and commission the SBF330 Wave Solder Input Conveyor so boards reach the wave at the right height, width and speed.
What it does
The SBF330 transfers PCBs or pallets into the soldering inlet, replacing manual loading. Catalog description: "This unit is used for transferring PCBs/pallets into the soldering inlet."
Verified specifications

The same table lists the larger SBF460: 1000 x 730 x 1100 mm, up to 530 x 460 mm, 45 kg. Confirm the parameters at quotation.
Commissioning sequence
- Level the frame - a level base keeps the pin chain aligned with the wave rail.
- Match the transport height - 800 mm +/- 30 mm or as specified; a mismatch causes inlet jams.
- Set the incline angle - adjustable, for a smooth hand-off to the wave conveyor.
- Set the rail width - parallel lead-screw adjustment across the 50 - 445 mm range.
- Select the pin chain - 35B with 3 or 5 mm pins, matched to 0.6 - 4 mm boards and pallets.
- Synchronise speed and SMEMA - 0.5 - 20 m/min to match the wave machine, then connect the SMEMA link upstream.
Line position
Loader or buffer, then the SBF330 input conveyor, then wave or selective soldering, then outfeed and AOI/AVI inspection.
ROI
A single SBF330 replaces manual feeding at the inlet, typically freeing up 1-2 operators per shift and removing hand-placed boards as a source of uneven entry, jams and rework.

FAQ
Does it handle pallets as well as bare boards?
Yes - it takes both PCBs and pallets, with a load capacity of 1.5 kg per board.
What is the transport height?
800 mm +/- 30 mm, or specified to match your wave machine.
Which pin chain should I order?
A 35B pin chain with 3 mm or 5 mm pins, chosen according to board thickness (0.6 - 4 mm) and pallet design.
Is it SMEMA compatible?
Yes - it handshakes directly with loaders, buffers and soldering machines.
