AVI S-D330 Inline Wave Solder Inspection by Southern Machinery
An inline AVI is only as good as its decision logic. Here is how Southern Machinery's S-D330 inspects PCBA around the wave solder process.
What the S-D330 checks, and how it decides
The S-D330 is an inline AVI station that inspects PCBA before and after wave soldering. Its classification methods are characteristic extraction, draw colour, OCV and graph comparison; it detects insertion faults (fault component, leakage, polarity reverse) and SMT faults (leakage, chip fault, polarity reverse, excursion).
Programming is manual or by automatic match; the camera reads 1D/2D codes under LED white light.

Where it sits on the line
- Runs in the feeder line or on the belt for online inspection.
- Bridge-joint line or belt conveyor options make it inline-ready.
- OK boards continue down the line; flagged boards exit with their SPC record.
Key selection parameters
- Panel size against the 330 x 250 mm standard range (larger ranges are a customization).
- Defect set: insertion quality, SMT quality, or both.
ROI perspective
Rework caught at the wave outfeed costs less than rework at functional test. The S-D330 takes over repetitive manual visual QC and logs every board automatically; Southern Machinery models ROI case by case.

FAQ
What does OCV mean here?
Optical character verification - reading component markings to confirm the right part.
Manual or automatic match programming?
Both are supported; automatic match runs against a reference.
Can it inspect larger panels?
Yes - larger ranges are a customization.
How does it differ from the SVL501T AOI?
The SVL501T checks THT insertion; the S-D330 checks PCBA around the wave.
